Nearly the entire department (except for three officers who were in training) spent the morning trimming bushes, planting flowers, and spreading mulch to make the memorial look better than it ever has before. We then enjoyed lunch together outside, which gave us an opportunity to reflect about the importance of doing this cleanup each year.
Sgt. Gonzalez will forever be remembered and today was and will always be our way of honoring his heroic sacrifice.
