KIDS EVENTS:

 

Kid Take and Make: An Apple a Day

This month you’ll be making an apple! Kid Take and Makes are designed to highlight early literacy skills and develop fine motor skills. 100 available each month; pick them up in the Youth Section while they last.

 

Toddler Tuesday

Tuesday, September 13  

10:30 AM to 11:00 AM

This special story time is developed just for two year olds! We'll read a book, sing songs, and engage in sensory exploration. Registration required. 

 

Wee Reads

Wednesdays, September 14 and 21

10:30 AM to 11:00 AM

We’ll read books, sing songs, and do finger plays. Best for ages 3 to 5. Registration required.

 

Rhyme Time

Thursdays 

September 15 and 22

10:30 AM to 11:00 AM

Develop baby's motor, sensory, and social skills through exploration of short books, rhymes, songs, and more! For ages 0 to 2 years old. Siblings are welcome. Registration required.


Barking Book Buddies 

Monday, September 19 

6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Read to a therapy dog. Each participant will get fifteen minutes to read to a therapy dog. Be ready with a preselected book. Presented in partnership with Tri-State K9 Response Team. For kindergarteners and up. Registration required.


Read & Create

Tuesday, September 20 

10:30 AM to 11:00 AM

We will read a short book to inspire our art pieces. For ages 3 and up. Registration required.

 

The Babysitter’s Club: The Book Club

Tuesday, September 20  

5:00 PM to 5:45 PM

Have you read the graphic novels, watched the Netflix show, or love the original novels? Then this is the book club for you! Find out if you are a Kristy or a Claudia, talk about what you really think about Logan, and delve deep into why Mary Ann’s dad is so strict! This month we will be discussing Kristy’s Great Idea. For grades 3 to 5. This program will be hybrid, presented in person and on Zoom simultaneously. If you would like to join us on Zoom, please email cworrell@ftlnj.org. Registration required.

 

Be Our Guest Reader: Yoga Instructor

10:30 AM to 11:00 AM

Each month we invite a member of the community to be a guest reader. This month we are hosting yoga instructor Linda Marchese! She will lead us through a beach themed yoga story time. For ages 3 and up. Registration required.

Dungeons & Dragons

Monday, September 12 

6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

A crumbling castle in a darkening forest. Danger abounds. You are equipped only with your wits and a single spell. Will you emerge victorious? This roleplaying, tabletop game is not for the faint of heart, but all levels of experience are welcome. For grades 6 to 12.

Anime Club

Tuesday, September 13 

5:00 PM to 6:00 PM 

We’re watching anime and eating Asian snacks. It will be awesome. For grades 6 to 12. Registration required.

 

Teen Take and Make: Washer Necklace

Friday, September 16 

All day

This month pick up materials to make your own necklace. For grades 6 to 12. Supplies are limited and registration is required.

 

You Pick Book Club

Monday, September 26 

6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Each month we choose a different theme and you read a book that fits within the theme. This month’s theme is “Romance.” Specify your favorite pizza topping when registering. For grades 6 to 12. Volunteer Power Hour

Tuesday, September 27 

5:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Need community service hours? Want to help the library? Or just bored of sitting at home? Come help us out by preparing crafts, straightening shelves, and more. For grades 6 to 12. Registration required.

3:00 PM

Come join us for lots of fun! We will be making a Macramé plant holder. All materials supplied. Open to adults only. Space is limited and registration is required.
