Amendments to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, N.J.S.A. 4:22-17 et seq., were recently signed into law. The new legal requirements apply to any individual who owns or has custody or control (hereinafter “caretaker”) of a dog, service animal or an animal that is a pet.
